About

Susan Feinberg
   Executive Producer

SMASH Productions of The Villages is one of the leading theatre companies in The Villages Area. We have earned a reputation for high energy musicals, comedies and events in just seven short years. We bring together the best talent in The Villages including singers, dancers, musicians, and comedians to create top notch productions of original scripts and popular favorites. We’re proud of our sold-out shows, starting back in 2016 with “USO: Celebrating 75 Years of Entertainment,” followed by “Love & Marriage.” Our original Disney show review “When You Wish Upon a Mouse” was so well received that we developed another script for a second show. We performed “Nunsense” by Dan Goggins to an enthusiastic crowd in 2017. “Nuncrackers” and “Nunset Boulevard” have become a habit with Villagers.

Our most recent shows have been “The Honeymooners from New York to The Villages”, “Sound of Music” in 2022 and “Little Shop of Horrors” and “The Addams Family” in 2023. All of our musicals feature Villagers Performers with live music by  Professional Musicians.

Our 2024 Savannah Center Shows are “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to The Forum” on April 2-4 and ‘The Honeymooners Return to The Villages” on October 20-22. Our first show in April 2025 is the fabulous Nine to Five.

Local talent makes SMASH productions special. SMASH was founded by Susan Sirmai Feinberg and a group of talented Villagers who wanted to create a professional theatre company that could perform on a big stage and provide performance opportunities for Villagers. The vision continues to discover and nurture new talent while working with the incredible production and backstage team to produce shows that are spectacular and professional. Some of the performers, crew and directors have been involved with SMASH since its inception but we always welcome new talent. The SMASH family has a lot of fun, behind the scenes and on stage, and audiences pick up on the energy. We welcome newcomers to audition for shows or join our backstage teams. We keep our eye open for creative original scripts.

Many talented individuals have helped SMASH mature to produce a level of quality entertainment, including two of our experienced directors,  Bob Stehman, who directed the “Sound of Music’ and “The Addams Family” is directing  Forum. Barry Corlew will direct  “The Honeymooners Returns to The Villages” after directing “Little Shop of Horrors” and “The Honeymooner from New York to The Villages” and will play Erronius in “Forum”.  Both of these Directors  have been with the company from Day One.  In 2025 our first show will be Nine to Five.

SMASH consistently donates to local charities and nonprofits including Villages Honor Flight, The Shrine Club, YOUR Humane Society SPCA, Villagers for Veterans, Toys for Tots, Rotary Club, USO, SOZO Kids, Patriot Service Dogs and JWV. The SMASH family believes strongly in giving back to the community that give us so much.
